Seafaring Saturday: Splicing Workshop

Discover the traditional maritime craft of rope splicing in this hands-on workshop! Learn the techniques used by sailors to create strong, durable splices while exploring the history and practical uses of this time-honored skill. Participants are encouraged to bring a project they'd like to splice for use with a boat, kayak, dog leash, or another purpose, though the Museum will provide all the line needed for anyone who simply wants to learn. Everyone will leave with a completed spliced line to take home.
