Ever wonder where round rocks come from and why they are considered treasures in many cultures? Join the round rock armchair history expedition as we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Gig Harbor’s Round Rock Contest and unearth the mysteries and histories of round rocks.  HHM Director Stephanie Lile will reveal how nature makes round rocks, and where in Washington the best places are to find them. All this is just in time for the two-week entry window of the 2026 Round Rock Contest (last two weeks in July). Cost: $5. Free for museum members.
