Event Description:
The Gig Harbor Paddlers Cup is the premier event for Pacific Northwest paddle enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Organized by the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team, this annual community event features paddle racing for kayaks, canoes, stand up and prone paddleboards, outriggers, para-canoes, and dragon boats. Race proceeds benefit the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization committed to introducing youth to the sport of Olympic Sprint Canoe and Kayak Racing. Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team has a history of excellence, producing multiple national champions and world-class athletes. The team won the USA National Team Championships in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2021. COVID Requirements Participants will follow COVID guidelines as required by Washington State and Pierce County at time of event. For Sunday’s Dragon Boat races, all participants are required to be fully vaccinated.

8:00 am: Safety Boat Drivers Meet with Marine Patrol (Dock)
8:15 am: 2k Youth Inner Harbor Distance Pre-race Meeting
8:30 am: National Anthem
9:00 am: 2k Youth Inner Harbor Distance Race (ages 13 and under)
9:30 am: 5k/10k Inner Harbor Distance Pre-race Meeting
10:00 am: 5k/10k Inner Harbor Distance Race
12:15 pm: Sprint Knock-off Races Pre-race Meeting
12:30 pm: 100m Sprint Knock-off Races Begin
2 pm: Awards Presentation Dragon Boat Race Day

Inner Harbor 2k Youth (age 13 and under): $20 (optional entry into Inner Harbor 10k or 5k for additional $15. Sprint Knock Offs included free of charge.) Inner Harbor 10k or 5k: $35 (includes optional entry in Sprint Knock Offs) 100m Sprint Knock Offs: $0 (included with registration in any of the other races.) Dragon Boat Fee: $750
